This lesson guides users through uploading MCA/MTAS data to your eduCLIMBER system.
Manual Upload
To manually upload your Final Score MCA data, you will need contact your Pearson contact and obtain the Student Data file you wish to upload, which is provided by the Minnesota Department of Education (MDE).
Once the file is downloaded, it can be uploaded into eduCLIMBER.
Automation
Complete a Data Sharing Agreement for available Preliminary MCA data to automate to eduCLIMBER. Assessment data becomes available two times a year, late Spring and in the Fall.
At the beginning of each new year, Minnestoa eduCLIMBER clients will receive an email from Renaissance asking them to fill out a Data Sharing Agreement to participate in having the Minnesota Comprehensive Assessment data to be automated to Renaissance eduCLIMBER. This document will outline the steps for the districts to participate.
Data Sharing Agreement
To participate, a Data Sharing Agreement (DSA) is required between the district and Renaissance Learning, which is then filed with MDE. Follow these steps to complete your DSA:
- Download and sign the DSA form that was sent via Renaissance communication. This will occur in January. The signed DSA return date will be included in this email.
- Email your completed form to the Renaissance MCA DSA team at mcadsa@renaissance.com, cc’ing your Renaissance Customer Success Manager.
NOTE: Please include your district name on the file.
Key Points to Keep in Mind When Submitting the DSA
- The DSA must include the district name and number as recorded in MDE-ORG.
- The DSA is to be signed by an authorized representative able to enter into a legal agreement on behalf of the district.
- The DSA includes the option of receiving preliminary data, final data, or both.
- A separate DSA will be needed if a district has different vendors for preliminary and final data.
- If you feel you should have received an email but did not, or if you have any questions regarding this process, please contact the Renaissance MCA DSA team at mcadsa@renaissance.com with any questions that you may have.
