This article walks through how to apply filters, tags, and smartFORMs to a Threshold.
Before You Begin
This article assumes that a Threshold has already been created for filters, tags, and smartFORMs to be added to. To learn more about creating a new Threshold, take a look at Create a New Threshold.
Where to Start
- Go to Thresholds.
- Select the desired Threshold from the list.
- Select Edit at the top right of the Threshold, then select Edit from the dropdown.
Apply Filters
- Select the Filters tab.
- Select one or more Schools to filter to that particular student population.
- If left blank, the Threshold will run on the whole district.
- Select one or more Grades.
- If left blank, all grades in the schools selected will apply.
- Filter to a particular group of students by selecting one or more Tags.
- Tags must already be created and applied to students in order to filter.
- Select one or more Ethnicities to filter the data.
- Select one or more Genders to filter the data.
- Select one or more Disabilities to filter the data.
- Select one or more Intervention Types to filter the data.

- Select one or more ELP Levels to filter the data.
- Select an Active Status to filter the data.
- Select an Active as of Date to filter the data.
Different filters will be available for each district, depending on the demographic data imported into the eduCLIMBER system.
Add Tags
When tags are added to a Threshold, those tags automatically apply to students who meet the Threshold's criteria. Tags can also be configured to apply only to students who fall under a specific Threshold performance band.
- Select the Tags tab.
- Select Add a Tag.
- Select the checkboxes next to existing tags to add to the Threshold.
- Select Add to apply the selected tags.
- If a desired tag does not yet exist, select New Tag.
- Select the desired Color for the new tag.
- Enter the Tag Name.
- Enter a Description of the tag.
- Select whether the new tag should be Viewable to Others, so that other users can utilize the new tag.
- Select Add.
- (Optional) Double select the Performance Band field for an added tag to specify if the tag should only apply to students who fall within one or more selected Threshold performance bands.
- If no performance bands are selected, the tag will apply to any student who meets the criteria for the Threshold, regardless of performance band level.
- Select the checkbox next to a tag and select Delete to remove the tag from the Threshold.
Remove Threshold Tags from Students
When a tag has been applied to a student via a Threshold, but that student no longer meets the indicators of the Threshold, users can run the threshold report and select Clear Previous Results. Utilizing this option ensures that all threshold features, including tags, are removed from students that no longer meet the threshold indicators.
Add smartFORMs
When smartFORMs are added to a Threshold, students who trigger the Threshold will have those forms automatically applied to their account. SmartFORMs can also be configured to apply only to students who fall under a specific Threshold performance band. Only already existing smartFORMs can be added to a Threshold.
- Select the smartFORMs tab.
- Select Add a smartFORM.
- Select the checkbox next to one or more existing smartFORMs to add to the Threshold.
- Select Add.
- (Optional) Double select the Performance Band field for an added smartFORM to specify if the form should only apply to students who fall within one or more selected Threshold performance bands.
- If no performance bands are selected, the smartFORM will apply to any student who meets the criteria for the Threshold, regardless of performance band level.
- To remove a smartFORM from a Threshold, select the checkbox next to the smartFORM.
- Select Delete.
