This lesson guides users through creating a new threshold in the eduCLIMBER system. Once created, a threshold can be further configured by adding metrics, setting threshold triggers, applying filters, tags, and smartFORMs, and managing notifications.
Required Permission: Manage Threshold Records
Where to Start
- Select the Thresholds tab from the navigation bar.
Create a New Threshold
- Select Create.
- In the Create a Threshold popup menu, enter a Threshold Name for the new threshold.
- Select a Start Date for when the threshold will begin to looking at data.
- (Optional) Select an End Date. If an end date is identified, the threshold will stop running on that date. If no end date is entered, the threshold will indefinitely pull data for the current and future school years.
- Use the Include Weighting? toggle to make the threshold weighted or non-weighted.
- If a threshold is weighted, the metrics for each threshold indicator can be assigned individual weighting, and thresholds are triggered based on associated performance bands with specified cut points.
- If a threshold is not weighted, requirement conditions must be set for each indicator and the threshold as a whole to determine when the threshold is triggered.
- Use the Display on Student Page? toggle to enable or disable the threshold appearing on the Student Page for any student who triggers the threshold.
- Use the Clear Previous Result on Each Scheduled Run? toggle to clear or retain previous results.
- When disabled, running the threshold will include all students that have met the threshold within the current academic year in the results.
- When enabled, running the threshold will only show the students that have newly met the threshold with the current run in the results.
- Set a Scheduled Run Time, indicating what time the system should check for new students who trigger the threshold.
- Set Scheduled Run Days, indicating what days the system should check for new students who trigger the threshold, at the scheduled run time.
- Select Create.
Edit Threshold Settings
- Once a new threshold is created, it will appear on the Thresholds list, and populate its own overview page. The settings originally selected during creation can be edited at any time by selecting the pencil icon next to the name.
- Make any desired changes in the Edit Threshold Settings popup menu.
- Select Update to save the changes.
