User Tags are added to identify specific user groups. Once a user is added as a member of a user tag, they can also be added as a subscriber to a student’s account. In this lesson, learn how to upload user tags and subscriptions.
Required Permission: Upload Data into eduCLIMBER
Below are the default formats for User Tag and User Tag Subscription uploads. Districts have the ability to request an update to these formats of the importer. If your file does not upload with the identified column headers, please reach out to support to have them review the column headers needed for your organization to ensure a successful upload.
User Tags
Create a .CSV or .XLSX file using the following headers:
Field Name | Definition |
School Year | The school year of the tag in YYYY or YYYY-YYYY format (required). |
Teacher First Name | First name of the teacher or user |
Teacher Last Name | Last name of the teacher or user |
Teacher Email | Email address of the teacher or user |
Teacher ID | Internal eduClimber ID of the teacher or user |
Tag Name | Name of the User Tag |
Tag Flag | Either adds or removes the tag for the user. If not present, the tag is assigned to all users on the file. |
Tag Public Flag | Indicate if the tag will be public |
User Subscriptions
Create a .CSV or .XLSX file using the following headers:

Student ID | ID Assigned via SIS (Global ID) |
Student First Name | First name of the student |
Student Last Name | Last name of the student |

Teacher Email | Email address of the teacher or user |

Tag Name | Name of the User Tag |
Add Remove Flag | Adds or removes users from a user tag. To add a tag, provide Yes, Y, or 1 To remove a tag, provide No, N, or 0 |
Tag Public Flag | Indicates if the tag will be public |
Uploads
- Go to Uploads.
- Select Upload.
- Attach the file.
- Select the Upload Type as User Tags Import.
- Enter a Description of the upload.
- Select Upload.
