On Feb. 4, 2022, the indicator that identifies STAR CBM assessments as either Progress Monitoring or Benchmark will be removed by STAR. Illuminate relies on this to categorize your assessments when importing data into eduCLIMBER and, thus, will no longer be able to differentiate scores for these two assessment types.
Where to Start
As a result of this change from STAR, Illuminate is making the following adjustments:
- Our system will record every test as Progress Monitoring.
- We’ll utilize the testing window to determine if a test is Benchmark or not.
NOTE: This may result in scores being brought in to eduCLIMBER that do not reflect your STAR benchmark score. - Only the last score on the file for each testing window will be recorded as a benchmark score.
NOTE: STAR does not sort their file in any order, so this will appear to be randomly chosen, but the last score recorded for the specified testing window will always be the selected score.
We are currently working on additional enhancements to allow you to choose between keeping the High/Low score or earliest/most recent test. We’ll update this article and communicate to you when this enhancement is ready.
